The Automated Solution

The UltraStrip M3500, protected by patent numbers 5,628,271, 5,849,099, 6,425,340, and 6,564,815 is a robotic ultrahigh pressure water-jetting system developed to remove coatings and corrosion from the hulls and decks of large ships. The M3500 combines ultrahigh pressure water to strip the coatings with a vacuum and a filtration system to recycle the water and separate the coating particles for disposal. This innovative, robotic vehicle magnetically attaches to steel surfaces and is easily navigated around the ship’s hull by using a remote control joystick. This automated system has been field-tested and proven to deliver significant economic and environmental advantages. UltraStrip’s M3500 can remove coatings at a rate of 500 to 3000 sq. ft. per hour depending on how many layers of coating are being removed.
